Contactless cutting of material using a laser beam. A beam of laser radiation, which is created by exciting CO2 particles and is concentrated by optics into a small space of less than 0.5 mm. At this power, the material is partially vaporized and removed from the cutting gap using cutting gas.
We distinguish 3 types of contour processing with a laser beam. These are looping, edge rounding and maintaining a sharp edge.
Processable thickness according to material type: | |
---|---|
Carbon steel | 0,2 to 20 mm |
Stainless steel | 0,2 to 15 mm |
Aluminum alloys | 0,5 to 8 mm |
High performance on a small area and high cutting speed give the advantages of laser cutting while maintaining a sharp edge.
